Every mailing list must contain a header row. This means the first row of the file should contain titles for all of the columns. Lists without header rows can cause undesirable results in the mailing.
Each piece of data in a file should be in a separate column. Combining City, State and Zip into one column can cause undesirable results in the mailing. Your list should vaguely resemble the example below.
Most mailing lists are saved and uploaded as .csv or .xlsx files.
